A character comes to life: the character is you

Fictional characters are the same as we are, alive and thriving, broken and full of sorrow, quirky and indecisive. We are an amalgamation of different moving parts and energies and at one point or another we are full of energy and ideas, the hope to live a better fuller life, and at another point we are desperate and destitute. All of this together is what the human experience is made of.

FGAF knows that she is all of these things at varying times in life and she doesn't expect herself to look the same each day as her mood will shift and so will her prospects. In this drawing of FGAF today, she is in an illuminated state. Why is this? It's because she knows that she's come so far in life. She rose from an insecure, constantly questioning, young sun to a bright and bold decisive goddess, and it all happened as a result of her deep understanding of how the human spirit works and her ability to accept herself as she changes instead of force continuity.

I think many times we expect ourselves to constantly grow, move forward in a straight line, and expand our abilities and intellect, but the truth of the matter is that growth comes in waves and it changes courses. When FGAF realized that she wasn't going to constantly feel emboldened and that she would have set backs (like a mediocre grade in a Stats class or a broken friendship after putting a lot of energy into it) she began to accept herself and flow into her healthy authentic self, allowing for change. At this point she began to see missteps and mistakes as an opportunity for clarity and growth instead of beating herself up about how she'd failed. But this was not all--FGAF learned to give herself space to rest. For her, this meant taking a day off to lounge on the beach with a sparkling water and avocado toast or putting her phone down and drawing a cat for twenty minutes. This concerted rest (seems like an oxymoron, doesn't it?) allowed her to refuel and refresh in a way that helped her to climb with ease instead of dragging her feet.

This is how FGAF looks today but who knows what she'll turn into tomorrow. Because of feminism, its her choice to decide just how she wants her life to look and who she wants to be. AND THAT IS BEAUTIFUL!
